Session #9 Seeking Captain Redeyes.

 

 

 

 

A 15' crystalline disc covering a shaft into darkness

    A small party assembled this week with the intent of hunting down the recently met pirate, Captain Redeyes. After inquiring at the port authority, Andro Buthidae discovered that a 1000gp bounty stands for the live capture of said captain. The party gathered a couple of hirelings and entered the secret underwater entrance located in the waterfront.

    • Terrance - Mongrel-folk hopefull mage

    The party crept through the caves seeking their quarry until they returned to the barracks where they last encountered a post of guards. Unfortunately, the post was re-manned with a fresh stock of mercenaries. Although the adventurers overcame the guards, Terrance was shaken by a viscous dagger wound and required magical healing from one of Dierdre's pastries; a precious resource.      

    Although the Captain was absent, the dispatched guards had been left behind to protect his illicitly gained goods. The party rested while taking stock of their new fortune, sample a cask of fine wine, and considered their next move. 

    First, they explore a natural descent in the cave section and upon the discovery of a sarcophagus, they turn back. Then, remembering the nearby secret door, the party investigates. Further into this ruined temple the find a room with a large circular crystal on the floor which thy pry up to reveal a shaft of darkness, farther than torchlight reveals. Piddle's gnomish sight was ale to scry the bottom, although they though better of descending just yet. 

    Further into this floor, they discover a room with 3 large objects that appear to have broken or missing parts that resemble pipe organs. The door to the west of this room had no handle but is firmly locked. Perhaps the machinery is related? 

   Rather than risk any further dangers, the party heads out with their loot.    


Defeated enemies: 

       6 Guardsmen = 60 EXP

Recovered and sold treasure:

  • 1,000 gold pieces from the treasure chest

Other treasure: A scroll with cleric/druid spells: Cure light wounds, snake charm, bless.

        1 unidentified potion in a crystal phial.

        A treasure map indicating a locale in the desert to the south

        2 unopened casks of fine wine. A "find the right buyer" downtime action will be needed to sell these for their full value and to get an experience reward.

EXP split for each player = 354 xp

Treasure split for each player = 250 GP per player
